Moniuszko na Manhattanie,czyli... "Verbum nobile" po polsku

Stanislaw Moniuszko is the 19th-century composer of numerous operas -- including "Verbum Nobile" dating from 1860's, long considered a pearl in the art of opera. It was sung in Polish by the Polish Theatre Institute on the evening of January 22.

In a rare International performance at the Kosciuszko Foundation, included a number of performers such as Ko Kaiden from Japan as Marcin, Olivier Baby-Fourcade from France as Bartlomiej and two Americans, Lawrance Long from New York as Serwacy and Adam Juran from Washington. Isn't it wonderful that in the heart of Manhattan we could listen to singers from Japan, France and two Americans singing in Polish?

Thank you to Nina Polan, the founder of Polish Theatre Institute, and Pablo Zinger, the pianist and conductor, for such a nice evening, full of great music and emotions.
