"The Polish Opera 'Halka': A Rare Treat"

Music lovers who think only of Chopin and Paderewski in connection with Polish music should add Stanislaw Moniuszko, the 19th-century composer of numerous operas -- including 1848's "Halka", long considered Poland's greatest national opera.
